CHARACTER'S FULL HISTORY (FROM BIRTH TO CURRENT:

Serek was born on 3508.I3, sired by Xtmprsqzntwlfb Sponn and Zfbxrld T'Plel. His father is the Head of the Vulcan Academy of Sciences and former teacher, and his mother is presently a teacher of Physics, Computers, Ancient Weapons, and Engineering.
Serek was bonded at age 7 to T'Peardt, who was killed on 6206.30, while Serek was in Starfleet. Serek had a normal Vulcan childhood, although he was extremely intelligent, even by Vulcan standards, he never found himself worthy of his family. His constant desire to excel and be an overachiever would continue even to this day. Serek, for the most part had a lonely childhood, occasionally playing and learning with the other Vulcan children his age. His Khas-wahn ordeal happened twice, once to prove to himself that he could do it and the second time, publicly to not dishonor his family. he survived both with flying colors.
Serek graduated early from the Vulcan Academy of Sciences, cementing his reputation as an overachiever, and immediately joined Starfleet, not content with one field, he cross-trained himself from Helm and Navigation to Engineering and Security, the ultimate workload, no cadet envied him. Serek did manage to squeeze in a few friend in his killer schedule, including, Matthew Holden, and R.J. Koenig, They were the keepers of his sanity.

Graduating in '56, Ist in his class, Serek essentially wrote his own ticket, having survived the killer cadet schedule, all the Captains wanted him, so Serek, with no desire to disappoint his new home in Starfleet, started the journey of many past assignments. His first assignment was the U.S.S. Exeter, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I706, under Capt. Ronald Tracy, where on his first landing party, with the captain, Dr. Carter and himself with assorted security, they were successful in preventing a Klingon raid on a planet in the neutral zone and kept the peace for a while, for his actions and receiving a disrupter wound in his right hand, Ens. Serek got the Starfleet Wound Decoration.
Serek was later transferred to Starbase XXX, a basic assignment for a young officer, after a short period of time, Serek moved on.

Serek was transferred to Deep Space Station K-III, his last assignment as an Ensign, spent time doing mostly administrative work and kept busy.
Starfleet quickly promoted him and so Lt.j.g. Serek was transferred to the U.S.S. Hermes, Hermes Class Starship, NCC-585, briefly, and again transferred to the U.S.S. Astral Queen, Independence Class Starship, NCC-FI304, under Capt. John Daily doing mostly pickups and carting of supplies.
Serek was then transferred to Epsilon IX on the Klingon borders for a short time and was transferred to STARBASE III for 4 months.

Lt.j.g. Serek was transferred to the U.S.S. San Francisco, Independence Class Starship, NCC-FI3I2 for 2 months. and while on the planetoid, a plague broke out, Serek, with a medical team, found the virus and isolated it. That action earned him the Vulcan and Martian Scientific Legion of Honors.
Afterward, Serek was transferred to the U.S.S. Eratosthenese, Ptolemy Class Starship, NCC-3807, for 3 months, later to Outpost IV for 3 months, and then to the U.S.S. Cygnet, Tellar Class Starship, NCC-70I6, for 4 months Afterwards he transferred over to the U.S.S. Potemkin, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I7II for 3 months and Starbase I for 2 months. Later, he was transferred to the U.S.S. Constitution, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I700, for 2 months, and was then transferred to the U.S.S. Huron, Independence Class Starship, NCC-FI3I3, under Capt. O'Shea for another 2 months, and then transferred to the U.S.S. Lexington, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I703, After which, he was transferred to Starbase XXVII for 2 years, and Deep Space Station K-7 for 3 months.
After that, he was transferred to the U.S.S. Republic, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I37I, for 3 months, Later he was transferred to the U.S.S. Hood, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I707 for 4 months. After that he was transferred to the U.S.S. Saladin, Saladin Class Starship, NCC-500, for a month as well as a promotion to full Lieutenant.

After the Saladin, Lt. Serek was transferred to Starfleet Academy as the Helm, Security, Sciences and Command School Instructor. It was a pleasant experience teaching young minds as well as seeing how things might have changed over the years, it was for the most part quiet except for the day at the target range. Lt. Serek was with his security cadets testing their marksmanship when a cadet sneezed and fired his phaser right at his instructor, fortunately, he grazed Serek on the side of his stomach, needless to say the cadet thought his career was over. Lt. Serek intervened for the young cadet and the cadet was shaken but relieved. Serek also earned another wound decoration because of that incident.
After I8 months , Serek was transferred to the U.S.S. Yorktown, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I704 for 2 months and was transferred to the U.S.S. Crockett, Hermes Class Starship, NCC-600. After another 2 months, he got the choice assignment of the U.S.S. Enterprise, Constitution Class starship, NCC-I70I, under the newly promoted Capt. James T. Kirk as well as a promotion to Lieutenant Commander. After settling in with his blood cousin Cmdr. Spock, since Lt. Cmdr. Serek was directly in his command, he found it very enlightening. About 6 months into the assignment, Serek lead a landing party to investigate a possible threat of war, when a Romulan Bird of Prey decloacked in the atmosphere and had begun a strafing run. There were plenty of injuries and Serek was pick off when a disrupter bolt grazed him in the back and knocked him out. For his thinking and his subsequent back injury, he received the Grankite Order of Tactics and another wound decoration. He was in sickbay, on his stomach, for a month because of the severity of the injuries. Lt. Cmdr. Serek was very restless and tried to run his department from sickbay, in spite of the overwhelming objections of Dr. McCoy, so Spock set him straight about Vulcans, again. The assignment was more relaxed after that incident and after a 2 year total, Lt. Cmdr. Serek was transferred to the U.S.S. Independence, Independence Class Starship, NCC-FI3I3 for 2 months and was then transferred to Starfleet Headquarters, where, like his Academy assignment, he was based in San Francisco, Earth. He found this to be a great research opportunity.

After a time, Lt. Cmdr. Serek had discovered a protein that would aid plants on hostile environments, for which he earned the Starfleet Scientific Achievement Award. After which he was transferred to the U.S.S. Edos, Tellar Class Starship, NCC-7I0I for 4 months and the U.S.S. Kongo, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I7I0, where for some minor warp field improvements, he received the Starfleet Engineering Award, for 2 months and the U.S.S. Ptolemy, Ptolemy Class Starship, NCC-380I for another 2 months and at Starbase XI where he was at the transition of Comm. Stone and Comm. Mendez where he was promoted to full Commander.

Later he was transferred to the U.S.S. Constellation, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I0I7 under the command of Comm. Matthew Decker, so about a week into his mission, Cmdr. Serek was on a landing party when an arrow came out and killed the weapons officer immediately. Serek and the First Officer, Cmdr. Matthew Nelson, quickly tried to locate the source to the weapon, separating from him, Serek located the footprints, and captured the Orion single-handedly, Serek earned the Starfleet Citation for Valor for capturing and keeping the Orion alive for questioning, the rest of the tour didn't seem to be as exiting after that.
Serek was later transferred to the U.S.S. Intrepid, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I708, his 3rd longest and most meaningful assignment, although the work was fairly routine, Serek enjoyed the company of Vulcans but realized that human contact was needed in his daily routine, so he requested and got a transfer to the U.S.S. Excalibur, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I705, and was to rendezvous by shuttlecraft. After bidding farewells, he was on his way, Unbeknownst to him, the giant spacegoing amoebae was on it's way, carrying the shuttle out of control, fortunately, the Excalibur was already there to pick them up and they had said that the Intrepid had died. Serek only broke his wrist in the shuttle accident and got another wound ribbon.

Serek was transferred to the U.S.S. Excalibur, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I705, a starship with an excellent reputation within Starfleet. On orders from Starfleet Command on Stardate 6805.0I, the Excalibur was one of 4 starships to engage the U.S.S. Enterprise in war games in order to test the M-5 Multitronic unit designed by Dr. Richard Daystrom, a man Serek looked upon as a genius and a potential mentor, unfortunately, both the M-5 and Dr. Daystrom had nervous breakdowns resulting in the Enterprise firing on the Excalibur killing all but 26 persons. Thinking quickly, Serek assumed temporary command and tried to locate other surviving officers and crew and attempted to take the ship to a nearby starbase to treat those that were wounded and unable to perform their duties. With the help of the surviving engineers, the ship had some warp power to get to the Defiant where the ship was to be repaired and the wounded treated, surprisingly enough, Serek wasn't injured during the attack, but for his efforts in the ship and crew rescue, he received the Medal of Honor and the Silver Palms with Cluster, Serek finished his tour of duty on the Defiant
Later on the U.S.S. Defiant, Constitution Class Starship, NCC-I709, a month after joining the crew, Serek was on a landing party with 2 security officers doing a preliminary survey of the planet when a Romulan war party ambushed and killed the security officers, thinking for himself, he stunned the leader, a female who would later be his assistant Chief Engineer, and tried to escape with his life. He was awarded the Starfleet Decoration for Gallantry, and Serek was given mandatory shore leave because the medical officer had noticed that with all the assignments, Serek had taken very little shore leave, so Cmdr. Serek was shuttled towards a planet known for it's shore leave facilities. The Defiant went into interphase and Serek was awarded the Defiant survivor pin.

After all that, Cmdr. Serek was transferred to Starbase X where after a month settling in, he noted the base generators were acting odd, after a tricorder reading, he ordered the generators to be shut down and the back ups put in place, for discovering the radiation leak Cmdr. Serek was awarded the Legion of Honor. Things were quiet for about 2 months when Serek was ordered into the Commanding Officer's office. Apparently he was ordered to Starfleet Command to meet with R. Adm. C'Tanar Lerl, the Chief of Starship Operations. Serek was promoted to captain and was given command of the U.S.S. Intrepid II, Farragut II Class Starship, NCC-I738 and was asked to supervise the rest of the fitting to leave the drydock and hand select his crew. On 700I.06, Capt. Serek was ready with ship and crew. About 6 earlier, Serek was married to Lt. Cmdr. Xzk T'Prana, had 2 children, Soshek and T'Prayne, had Lt. Cmdr. T'Prana transferred to his ship and the children are currently on Vulcan, learning the teachings from their grandfather.

During the Intrepid’s 5 year mission, there were many aspects that have been explored. On stardate 7504.2I, Captain Serek brought his ship home, intact and with all aboard, the only other officers to do this were Capt. Kirk and Capt. Caffey, so he was in good company. The ship was ordered for refit and Capt. Serek was promoted to Rear Admiral and made Chief of Starship Operations. His friend, Aristotle Enfield was promoted to Captain and was given command of his ship. His wife was promoted to full Commander and was put on his staff. Serek, the tireless worker, began on fielding designs of several new classes , including the Excelsior and Oberth classes, to name a few.

About several years down the road, Capt. Enfield was caught in the area of space known as the slot. The ship was nearly destroyed and had to be decommissioned and a full court martial was convened. The end result was Capt. Enfield’s retirement from Starfleet. He also was the prosecuting attorney at Capt. Francisco Cumberland's court-martial for the destruction of the U.S.S. Hannibal, a case in which he lost because of the fact that he had an excellent lawyer and a good knowledge of Starfleet. Although Serek was not pleased with the results, he gave Capt. Cumberland command of the U.S.S. Miranda. Serek was later promoted to Vice Admiral and made Commandant/Superintendent - Starfleet Academy.

Throughout his career, he watched his son and daughter join Starfleet and grow into officers in their own right. His son, Soshek, became an engineer and his daughter, T'Prayne, a command officer. Serek was later promoted to Admiral and was made Deputy Commander, Starfleet. During this time, his son was Captain of Engineering and his daughter had assumed command of the Ambassador class U.S.S. Powell. The Powell was lost with all aboard stardate A3I07.I9. He regretted the loss but knew the risks the Starfleet brought. Finally, he was made Commander/Starfleet and was promoted to Fleet Admiral. He was as proactive as David Watson was in his day. His son was promoted to Rear Admiral, and he continued in Starfleet until stardate I3I87.4, he retired Starfleet to become an Ambassador. He joined Sarek and Spock and was refereeing both during debates with the Federation Council. This reminded him of his days as a starship captain when Comm. Caffey had to referee him and Cmdr. Cumberland. If he were human, he would be amused. On stardate 45233.I, he was summoned to Vulcan to participate in Sarek’s funeral and to give insight in Spock’s disappearance to Romulus. He assumed the post Sarek vacated in his death and cared for Perrin. His wife, who long retired Starfleet, stays at his side. Sarek recently got to see a new class of starships, the Intrepid class come to light. He was there at the dedication ceremonies.

CHARACTER APPEARANCE AND PERSONAL DATA:

About 6', I65 lbs., dark hair combed in a variation on the Vulcan style and black eyes. He has a number of scars representing his long career.

HOBBIES/LIKES/DISLIKES:

A hobbyist by nature, he tries about everything once. but for the most part languages and music are his key interests. He likes learning about new things and new experiences and has little tolerance for the closed minded.

PERSONALITY:

More Vulcan than Vulcan, because of his ambition, unusual for a Vulcan, he is always in check, striving for his own perfection. He is not the most easiest person to get to know and he has a very small tight circle of friends. He is also very stoic and always in command of either the situation or surroundings. He is very curios and is always trying to master new skills. The loss of his original bond mate has not affected him because of his Vulcan brain. While appearing arrogant and knowing everything, for the most part, he does. His captaincy is his greatest prize and he is always trying to make it better, which makes him something of a tyrant to the crew, but he is also very generous with shore leaves knowing the "human" condition. Definitely not your average Vulcan. In later years it would be noted that he has not mellowed with age.
