We will hopefully have a block of rooms at a Quality Inn in Long Beach that is about 10 minutes driving time away, so if you're interested in this, let us know so that we can tell them how many rooms we will need. We stayed at the Quality Inn ourselves to check it out and it's reasonable and not that expensive. There's a continental breakfast in the morning (all you can eat waffles, hard-boiled eggs, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, toast, danishes, juice, and coffee), there's a pool and hot tub, wireless Internet, a microwave and a refrigerator in most of the rooms. Also, there's a Subway, a pizza place, a mom & pop donut and coffee shop, and a mini-mart on the other side of the parking lot. Across the street is a Chinese buffet and down the street is a Jack in the Box. There is a Motel 6 and an Econo Lodge and a couple non-chain hotels on the same street. The Motel 6 is next to an IHOP, but there's no free breakfast. The Econo Lodge is a long walk to any restaurants. The other hotels were cheap and seedy. From past experiences with cheap non-chain hotels in L.A., we don't recommend them. You are likely to end up with something like this.
